Ultimate Notifier For iPhone (Update)

27Sep09

UNLogoOver the last few I’ve been beta testing a new iPhone app called Ultimate Notifier and I have to say it is definitely the best all round push solution app for Gmail, Twitter or RSS. This app takes advantage of the push notifications feature in iPhone 3.0+ to alert you of new emails, Twitter or updates on RSS feeds and now with the most recent update any POP or IMAP email account. The Ultimate Notifier team explain why there app is needed best:

As iPhone developers we decided to do something about it! As we developed Ultimate Notifier it soon became apparent that there were a number of other features that would be really handy, why restrict it to Google Mail? RSS and ATOM feeds, using an aggregation service such as Google Reader or on their own, as well as Twitter (we’re at @ultimatenotify but you can get notifications about any Twitter search you like, including your @replies) and FriendFeed were all things we wanted to be notified about, so we extended our prototype to support these features.

I’ve been running it alongside an Exchange server during the testing and it has consistantly notified me of new emails before the Exchange server. I can not recommend this app more highly, it was submitted to the AppStore early last week so should arrive soon in the mean time headover to www.ultimatenotifier.com to signup to the mailing list and follow them on Twitter @ultimatenotify.

Update: Ultimate Notifier is now in the AppStore and available for download, just search notifier and it will be the top result.
